Reflections on Brain Wave Vibration

At the moment I am surrounded by Brain Wave Vibration. I write about Ilchi Lee’s Brain Wave Vibration lecture tour in South Korea and Japan, I’m surrounded by people hard at work putting the finishing touches on the English version of the Brain Wave Vibration book, and I’ve been doing Brain Wave Vibration every day with my team for the past couple of months. I’ve had to remind myself that most of the world has no idea what Brain Wave Vibration is. And it got me thinking, “What IS Brain Wave Vibration?”

Vibration exercise, or “jin-dong” in Korean, has been a part of Dahn Yoga since Ilchi Lee taught his first student in a park in South Korea. So vibration exercise is not new, but why “brain wave”? At first I thought shaking your head made the real difference. I had never placed much emphasis on my head during vibration exercise until I started doing Brain Wave Vibration. But that wasn’t quite the answer because I’ve been led in Brain Wave Vibration in so many different ways, and they don’t all involve head shaking or bobbing necessarily. I’ve done it standing up, sitting down, laying down, with tapping, and without tapping.

Finally today I realized that the real difference is the consciousness and the focus with which you do the exercise. Often practitioners are told to feel their brain waves and/or their brain stem. We are reminded that the brain is the key to our health, happiness, and peace and that we need to normalize our brain waves in order to obtain this easily and naturally. These normal brain waves will then travel to all of the cells in your body. It is the focus on the brain that adds to the benefit of vibration exercise I think.

I hope everyone gets to try Brain Wave Vibration exercise because it is a very liberating, refreshing, and grounding experience.

    Hi Michela,

Excellent insight. It IS our focus that determines the potential benefits and not merely the physical movements, though they aid the process. Reminds me of my favorite rationale for being a Dahn practitioner (with a nod to my mother who coined it):

Dahn helps me become more passionate about myself.

What can be more beautiful? :)

    Hi Michela,

I am also doing brain wave vibration with tapping my dahn-jhong for one hours every day.
It is big different between tapping and non-tapping.

The vibration with tapping let me release some emotions, even fear and fright too.

The exercise make me positive mind!!
    Thank you,Michela and Dr.Ilchi Lee.
