Superbrain Yoga

Yoga for your brain? Of course!

Not many people Apparently Choa Kok Sui devised a form of yoga that is based on ear acupunture. Your ears are one of those body parts, like you hands and feet, whose various sections correspond the all of the other parts of your body, including your brain. By practicing it, he claims this form of yoga may decrease stress and increase academic and social performance. Sometimes in Dahn Yoga classes we massage and pull our ears briefly for the same reason. Here is a basic exercise from his Superbrain Yoga website:

The right ear lobe corresponds to the left brain.
The left ear lobe corresponds to the right brain.

When the right ear lobe is gently squeezed with the left thumb and left index finger with the thumb outside, it produces the necessary energy connection. This connection causes the left brain and pituitary gland to become energized and activated.

Similarly, when the left ear lobe is gently squeezed with the right thumb and right index finger with the thumb outside, it produces the necessary energy connection, which causes the right brain and pineal gland to become energized and activated.

For energizing and activating the Left Brain and the Right Brain, the left arm must be inside, while the right arm must be outside.

The correct arm position is important for energizing and activating the brain.

This is a known technique done as a part of Worship to Lord Ganesh(Vinayaka) a elephant headed Hindu god.

People visiting Lord Ganesh Temple in India particularly south india do this as a part of Worship or respect to Lord Vinayaka. This is called thorpu karanam. Thorpu means and karanam means hands.
