He was nearly down for the count, until yoga poses for back pain got him fit, healthy and ready for the ring again. That's the story of Chris Jericho, one of the most recognizable faces in WWE's pro wrestling circuit.

Before he appeared on last year's season of Dancing with the Stars, the 41-year-old wrestler and TV personality found himself up against the ropes: Even at six feet and 226 pounds, Jericho seemed all but invincible, until a back injury nearly ended his career.

Former wrestler Diamond Dallas Page told Sportsvib.co.uk what happened.

"The doctors had told Chris his career was over, he was in too much pain and he had ruptured his lower vertebrae," Page explained to the news source. However, by taking the younger wrestler under his wing and teaching him yoga exercises for lower back pain, "DDP" had his friend up and wrestling in no time.

And what does Jericho have to say about the mind-body routine?

"Yoga pretty much changed my life," he explained in an interview. "I'm so addicted to it… I feel better now at 40 than I ever have in my entire life, and that's not just a cliche, it's the truth."
