Ajna chakra and the pineal gland

Ajna chakra is often directly related to the physical pineal gland, the pea-sized endocrinal gland located in the centre of the head. In fact, they are often regarded as one and the same thing. This is rather an over-simplification. The difference should be clearly understood. The pineal gland refers to the physical body the ajna chakra spans the chasm between the physical and the most subtle psychic realms. In fact, ajna chakra leads beyond the psychic realms via sushumna. It seems likely that the pineal gland is part of ajna chakra it is that part of ajna chakra that acts in the physical body. But ajna chakra as a whole goes much deeper. Ajna can be compared to a mountain in the sea the peak, the island that can be seen above the surface of the sea, is the pineal gland. The rest of ajna chakra, the base of the mountain, goes much, much deeper than can be seen with normal perception. The physiological functions of the pineal gland have baffled medical scientists for centuries. Even...

Pineal gland

A very interesting, yet little understood gland is the pineal gland. The function of this gland is not certain and baffled medical scientists are still trying to unravel its secrets. It is located in the centre of the brain, and is pea-sized. Many people have regarded it as an organ that has lost its purpose in the evolutionary growth of man. That is, that it had a use when man was in a more primitive state. However, this is most unlikely, since it has an extremely high blood flow. Per unit weight, it has the second largest blood flow of all the organs in the body, being second only to the kidneys. This suggests that it has a most important functional duty, which has not yet become obvious to scientists. In time, its secrets will be revealed. Thou gh its physiological role cannot be definitely ascertained, it is regarded as an endocrinal gland. In yoga and other mystical systems throughout the world, the pineal is regarded as the physical equivalent of the third eye - the intuitive...

Metaphysics Of The Inner

The physical body, the astral body, Prana, intellect or Buddhi, the instinctive mind, the spiritual mind and the spirit are the seven principles of man. Buddhi is pure reason. The seat of Buddhi is just below the crown of the head in the Pineal Gland of the brain. Buddhi is manifested only in those persons who have developed right intuitive discrimination or Viveka. The ordinary reason of the worldly people is termed practical reason, which is dense and has limitations.

Experience the Infinite

The main purpose of raising the Kundalini and moving our energy from the lower to the higher chakras is to give us an experience of the infinite. The goal is to expand our awareness so that we have a conscious experience of what is, was and always will be, often referred to as God. This awareness is awakened in the upper chakras by activating the pituitary and the pineal glands. The possibility of experiencing the infinite is always there in each one of us. It never goes away. We can resist this experience by being preoccupied with and attached to the thoughts in our minds. 3. LIGHT If we concentrate at the third eye, we see a light that can even fill head, whole space and being.

Telepathy And Clairvoyance

Imbedded in the brain, near the middle of the skull, almost directly above the top of the spinal column, is to be found a small body, or gland, of reddish-gray color, cone-shaped, attached to the floor of the third ventricle of the brain, in front of the cerebellum. It is a mass of nervous matter, containing corpuscles resembling nerve cells, and also containing small concretions of gritty, calcareous particles, sometimes called brain sand. This body is known to Western physical science as the Pineal Gland, or Pineal Body, , the term pineal having been given it by reason of its shape, which resembles that of a pine-cone. Western scientists are completely at sea regarding the function, purpose and use of this organ of the brain (for an organ it is) . Their textbooks dismiss the matter with the solemn statement, the function of the pineal body is not understood, and no attempt is made to account for the presence and purposes of the corpuscles resembling nerve cells, or the brain sand....

Chakras Physical Wisdom And Healinc

While they are associated with areas of the body, in actuality, they shift around like swirls in water. When the mind and body are healthy and vital, they tend to project through specific areas. The first chakra is near the base of the spine and anus. The second chakra is near the sex organs and the 3-4th vertebra. The third chakra is near the navel point. The fourth chakra is near the heart center and is associated with the thymus gland. The fifth chakra is near the throat and is associated with the thyroid gland. The sixth chakra is near the top of the nose, associated with the pituitary gland. The seventh chakra is near the crown of the head, associated with the pineal gland.

Praise by di hankar ch rya

Adi Shankaracharya has said 'Your right eye being the embodiment of the sun creates day, Your left eye being the embodiment of the moon creates night, your third eye radiant like the slightly open golden lotus, creates twilight'. He also says that due to collyrium that the Mother wears, Her eyes become tri-coloured - The streak of red, the natural white colour of the eyes and the black of the collyrium. They look like the triad of the three quantities - Raja, Sattwa and Tama.

Shabad Kriya Bedtime Meditation

The eyes focused at the tip of the nose causes the optic nerves to cross at the third eye. Thus it is easier to bring your mental focus to the third eye while the eyes are directed at the tip of the nose. Both the pineal and the pituitary glands and the area between them are stimulated by this eye posture, which has the effect of breaking old habits and creating new ones.

The Manifestation Mantra and Meditation

The secret meditation for manifestation that I gave to Wayne Dyer and which he presented in his book Manifest Your Destiny is called the Ah Meditation. Time and again I hear stories of individuals manifesting cars, houses, jobs and other things they desire, using this meditation. Bring any thought that you want to manifest to the third eye and interject this thought with the sound Ah. This sound has the power to empower your thoughts. I gave this meditation to Wayne and told him, Experiment with this in your life and if it works, take it to the world. Wayne did take it to the world and now at least a million people are using this technique. The basis for the Ah Meditation is that creation takes place in two centers. One is the sex center, the sex chakra (located by the reproductive organs), from which the energy is released to create a baby. Creating a baby is a mystery, a joyous act. You can also create through the third eye chakra, which is between the two eyebrows and the pituitary...

Ajna chakra in different traditions

Many people, such as the ancient Egyptians and the American Indians, wore special head raiments that symbolized the third eye at the eyebrow centre. Often a snake is shown tiger skin with his eyes firmly closed. However, he opened his third eye, keeping his fleshy eyes closed. He saw Kama Deva and perceived his motives. He immediately emitted a thunderbolt of psychic power which instantly killed Kama Deva. The story continues and involves various other plots and ploys. Eventually, Shiva is persuaded to mate with Parvati and their son Subramaniyan was born. He is known as the lord of the celestial realms and he destroys the demons.

Physiology of trataka

Most people have heard of the pineal gland. It is a small pea-sized gland above the top of the spine, in the centre of the head between the two ears (technically it is located between the two cerebral hemispheres and above the cerebellum). This small body has yet to be understood by modern science, and does not seem to have any specific physiological function. Yoga, on the other hand, together with various spiritual systems throughout the ages, both eastern and western, says that this gland is the link, the antenna for higher vibrations. When it is stimulated or awakened then one can start to tune in with more subtle patterns of existence. It is significant that the eyes are connected directly with the pineal gland, via the sympathetic nervous system. This much modern physiology has determined, together with various other factors which have recently come to light. The centre of the sympathetic nervous system, as well as the parasympathetic, is the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus is...

Tools for Advanced Ritual and Practice

This is a tool that comes from the Divine to assist you in opening your third eye and absorbing spiritual realization at an accelerated pace. In addition, sometimes spiritual seekers are not able to attract things because they lack authentic desire. The sacred ash has properties for both erasing karma and for helping you to develop authentic desire. I recommend using the vibhuti after showering, before beginning a meditation session. You may apply it using the right hand, using your ring finger and dotting the third eye area on the forehead (traditionally, the use of the index finger in applying vibhuti is reserved for one's teacher). There is a story about the ash. Shiva opened his third eye and burnt down the god of desire (Manmatha). He then put the ash all over his body. Smearing the vibhuti on your body is a sacrament. When you regularly use the vibhuti you will develop ability to desire through the grace of Shiva.

Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo Adi Mantra

The palms of the hands are flat together (Prayer Pose Mudra). The positive side of the body (right or male) and negative (left or female) are neutralized. The Mudra is then placed in the center of the chest (the Sternum) at the 4th Chakra, the Heart Center. Your neutrality is at the center of your Chakra Energy centers. The eyes are closed and focused on the 6th Chakra, the Third Eye the space in between the eyebrows and about 1 2 inch up. throat center with its power of understanding to the vast knowledge of the third eye (pituitary gland region. Understanding plus knowledge equals wisdom. As in this formula DEV' means God-like. Its meaning transparent (non-physical)

Kundalini Yoga An Introduction

From the rectum to the vocal cord is known as the silver cord. From the neck to the top of the head is the passage. From the third eye to the pineal gland is the gold cord. To make the energy rise in these cords and passages, you must put a pressure. The pineal gland or seat of the soul, does not work when the tenth gate (top of the head) is sealed. But if pineal will secrete (when the Kundalini heat comes) your pituitary will act as radar, keeping the mind from negativity.

Kundalini Yoga series

Sit on the right heel, with the left leg stretched out. Take hold with both hands of the big toe of the left foot. Straighten the spine as much as possible by arching the spine forwards. Bring the chin in and bend the head forwards so that you are looking at the bog toe through the third eye. This is for the life nerve, the ida nadi and the pituitary gland. Begin Long Deep Breathing for 3 minutes. Then inhale and hold the breath for 30 seconds. Then exhale, inhale, exhale and inhale and hold the breath for 30 more seconds. Pull the root lock. Then exhale and change legs and repeat. 9. Then sit on the heels, hands up, as in Sat Kriya. Inhale deeply, exhale. Hold the breath out and pull the root lock. Sa Ta Na Ma Meditation for Evolutionary Change

The radiance of the psyche is dependent upon the active functioning of both the pituitary and pineal glands. The pituitary gland regulates the entire glandular system. The secretion of the pineal gland creates a pulsating radiance that activates the pituitary gland. The mind goes out of balance when the pineal gland is dormant. The imbalance makes it seem impossible to break mental and physical addictions. The mantra SA TA NA MA to a powerful tool to recreate balance in the mind. Visualize or feel each individual sound come in the crown chakra at the top of the head, down through the middle of the head and out to infinity through the third eye. This is very important and must be done with each sound. It is an essential part of the cleansing process. If this part of the meditation is not done, you may experience a headache.

Exercise Sequence for Abundance

B) Place your feet hip-width apart, lift up your arms so that they are 60 degrees apart with elbows straight. As you breathe in, turn your whole body to the left and then as you breathe out, turn to the right. With your eyes shut, direct both eyes to your third eye. Perform quick turns for 1-3 minutes.

Exercise Sequence for Inspiration

Back Bending Yoga Sequence

B) Stand in a relaxed and upright posture and concentrate on your third eye (in the centre between your eyebrows). Also direct your eyes, while shut, towards this point. Imagine that you are breathing in and out from where the bridge of your nose meets your face, and place your attention on what that feels like. 3-5 minutes.

Murccha Kumbhaka Third Eye Breathing

Murccha kumbhaka (pronounced MER-chah koom-BHAH-kah) focuses all your attention and energy on your third eye, which is the chakra, or energy center, located between and just above your eyebrows on your forehead. (For more on this and other chakras, see Chapter 20. This exercise produces a focused, blissful feeling. 2. As you hold your breath, concentrate on the spot on your forehead about an inch above the place exactly between your eyebrows, called the third eye. 3. Hold your breath for as long as is comfortable, while staying focused on the third eye. 4. Exhale very slowly through your mouth, staying focused on the third eye.

Earth the First Chakra and Intuition

We often associate intuition with the third eye and the mind. The mind is the masculine aspect of intuition. The feminine aspect of intuition works through the instinctual self and the senses of the body. This exercise set, which involves using the breath while applying *rootlock, facilitates instinctual awareness. After the exercise, sit or lie very still and simply be aware of the sensations in your body. Over time you will realize that these sensations are a powerful and accurate information system. They are the physical and emotional aspects of your intuitive awareness.

The Path of Manifestation

Spiritual practices have traditionally focused on raising energy from lower to higher frequencies and from the lower to the higher chakras. Many spiritual disciplines concentrate only on the upper chakras and totally ignore (or try to ignore) the lower chakras. Some spiritual paths still condemn the body and the lower chakras, which they consider as bad. I knew one woman who would practice only third eye meditations. She even refused to do yoga or any practice that got her in touch with her body. She also lost her husband (He lost interest in her.)

Exercise Sequence for Willpower

Quickly turn your head from left to right as if you were shaking your head. Keep your eyes shut and turn your eyes to your third eye, between your eyebrows. Breathe long and deep. 1 minute. Then quickly raise and lower your head as if you were nodding. You are stretching your throat and neck. Focus and breathe as before. 1 minute. At the same time, holding your right arm at a 45-degree angle, swing it backwards. Repeat these movements in the opposite direction. Keep your eyes shut, and direct them to your third eye. 3 minutes. d) Place your feet hip-width apart place your hands on your shoulders with your fingers facing forwards and your thumbs backwards. As you breathe in, turn your upper body and head to the left as you breathe out turn them to the right. Shut your eyes and direct them to your third eye, between your eyebrows. Keep your spine straight. 2 minutes. b) Place your feet about 60 cm apart bend your upper body forwards and hold it...

Body of Light and Sound

This body is made up of a multiple of receptors and preceptors through which impressions become encoded. These are the well known centers or seven chakras we often refer to of groups of nerves, glands and organs, plus a number of centers of greater and lesser magnitude. Six of these centers are along the silver cord from the base of the spine up to the pituitary gland. The centers of greater magnitude are along the gold cord from the pituitary through the hypothalamus to the pineal gland and related extensions throughout the brain. Minor centers are distributed throughout the body. The centers of power that generate, organize (support) and dissolve the body and its storehouse of impressions are the Kandal (between the 4th vertebra and navel), the Sahasrara (opening through the tenth gate in the crown of the head), and the Hrdayam, which is the self-effulgent light that animates the body field and denotes the sense of I and realness to all interpretations and projections made of the...

The Kundalini

Up to this point, the experience is still not that of the Kundalini. Thus far, the experience was of the awakening to the awareness of the pranas that regulate life in the body and its functions, and in the process the movement of that prana in effecting a charging and purification of the centers and magnetic field of the body. But when the satvic mind becomes profoundly still and the locks begin to pull, the upward moving prana comes down and the downward flowing prana comes up and they mix in the Kandal region and send a charge that causes the release of a drop of vitalized sexual fluid into the spinal cord. Immediately the fluid penetrates upwards, sometimes causing the spine to crack into place as the force of the energy rises. The centers along the spine are directly effected and open and, as the fluid passes into the 4th and 3r ventricles of the brain, it reaches the pineal gland, which begin to secrete. The pineal gland in an adult is the size of a pine nut. But in babies until...

Keep It Simple

Stop after each exercise and listen, look or sense inward. Turn your attention to the sensations in your body. Continue until you can hear the infinite sound, see and be in your inner space, see a light at your third eye or in any other way perceive a sound, sight or sensation that is always there when you turn your attention to it. Keep doing this. Over time you will have a place to go to that feels secure, comfortable and peaceful. Ideally we want to always be conscious of this place, feeling or sound.

Sit in easy pose, with your eyes closed, focusing at the third eye point. Bring the hands into prayer pose at the center of the chest. Slide the left hand upward until it is higher than the right, with the left palm facing to the right side. The right palm faces left and touches the left arm just below the wrist. Breathe as long and slowly as you can. 3-11 minutes. Sit in easy pose with the eyes closed, focusing at the third eye point. Your thumbs are hooked into the hollows on either side of the bridge of your nose. Slowly close the palms into prayer pose, closing from the bottom of the side of the palms upward, touching the sides of the fingers last. Hold this position. Breathe as long and slowly as you can. 3-11 minutes. Sit in easy pose with the eyes closed, focusing at the third eye point. Breathe as long and slowly as you can. Place your right hand over your left at your heart center and press as hard as you can, maintaining the pressure throughout the meditation. 3-11 minutes.

Come To Center

Another classic way to bring the mind inward is to focus on one of the subtle-body spiritual centers, usually the heart center or the third eye. This heart-centered practice is based on a centering prayer from one of the Christian contemplative traditions. It directs your awareness toward the seat of higher emotions, allowing your attention to sink gradually inward. Sitting quietly, bringyour attention into the center of the chest, behind the breastbone, deep inside the body One way to find this spot is to measure five finger-widths below the hollow of the collarbone, and then bring your attention inward from this spot to the very center of the body. Let the breath flow as if it were flowing into and out of the center of the chest, touching this placc in the inner heart. You might imagine, ifyou like, that there is an

The Sphinx

The Sphinx is a very relaxing exercise that requires concentration. In classic yoga (without weights), the pose is considered the pose of wisdom, because you look through your third eye your intuitive and instinctive center. Along with its centering powers, the Sphinx stretches and loosens your head and neck.

Yogi Bhajan

Our intuition is our security. If we seek the satisfaction of our ego, our third eye (seat of our intuition) will not open up. If we give up our ego, the vacuum is filled with our intuition and we are uplifted_.It is easy to access our intuition when our chakras are open.

Position Mudra

Your eyes are focused at the tip of your nose and the eyelids are nine-tenths closed. The focus at the tip of the nose, creates the pressure to cross the optic nerves at the third eye. You should be able to feel an awareness at the third eye and be able to hold your attention there.

The Body Field

The body has a number of main nerve systems in the body, collectively called the sushumna. And along the right and left side of the silver and gold cord are the ida or moon nadi (nerve) and pingala or sun nadi, which regulate and balance temperature and a number of other functions of the body and the mind. Of the main nerves, each one is more powerful than the previous, like the sun to the moon, such that the silver cord within the spinal cord of the vertebra, between the Muladara chakra (center at the sacral plexus) and Ajna chakra (center at the pituitary gland at the nerve juncture where the eyes are looking up and between the eyebrows), and all the centers between are as a shadow to the gold cord and its centers, located between the Ajna chakra and the Sahasrara or crown of the head. Finally, there is the Para nadi or Atma nadi, also Amrita nadi (vagus nerve), which runs between Hrdayam (the synod or pacemaker in the right side of the heart, which is situated 1 8th to the right of...

Breathe as long and slowly as you can. 3-11 minutes.

Mental Focus

The following pages contain many wonderful techniques. To fully appreciate and receive the benefits of each one you will need mental focus. Unless you are directed to do otherwise, focus your concentration on the brow point, which is located between the eyebrows just above the root of the nose. With your eyes closed, mentally locate this point by turning your eyes gently upwards and inwards. Remain aware of your breath, your body posture, your movements, and any mantra you may be using, even as you center your awareness at the brow or third eye point.

The Age of Miracles

I will be teaching many special techniques during the Age of Miracles. And I want you to rest assured that the Age of Miracles has truly arrived. You may ask, Who is going to come Jesus, Maitreya, Kalki or the White Buffalo I want you to understand God has no name or form. Everyone understands within his or her parameter. In my opinion God is Light, God is Love. He or She or the androgyne (I like the androgyne better ) will help everyone to open his or her third eye, an energy center located between the eyebrows that is the seat of intuition and awareness.

What is Yoga

This fluid passes at once up the spinal cord into the fourth and third ventricle of the brain and causes the glands along the gold cord to secrete. The pituitary directs the flow of energy to the pineal gland, which opens the magnetic field to the air (ether) outside, and a vast archetypal expanse is experienced, as though one has engulfed the universe, and the constellation of stars are ones crown. When the Tenth Gate opens at the crown all the centers between the center between the eyebrows (the third eye) and the crown begin to secrete, which causes a further transformation of the body field, such that the archetypal causal consciousness is revealed, as though a shroud was lifted from ones vision, and one awakens to the mind of the Creator. This door that opens is known as the hypothalamus, which is a governor that regulates the flow of infinite energy from blowing apart the body field. But once the body field becomes charged, and the voltage of the Kundalini is triggered and the...
